DimDrop is an acronym for DIMensional Digital Representation Of Places/People/Posts/Products. The DimDrop app allows you to communicate relevant and timely information to and from the organizations you depend on and trust using geofencing, push messaging, text messaging, news posts, event notifications and social media sharing.

The app is meant to be used passively meaning once you subscribe to Communities, you can but will not have to open the app to receive content notifications. In order to receive content you will need to subscribe to one or more public Communities from the Communities view. Private Communities are by invite only and not displayed publicly.

Once you subscribe to one or more Communities you will be able to send content to Community managers using published forms. The Community managers will also be able to send you location based messages, geofences, general notifications and multimedia content which will appear in your Messages Feed view. You can refresh your Messages Feed and all other views by pulling down on the list view when you are at the top of the view.

Assume all information you generate through this app will be shared with the public. Your user information such as email and phone number will only be shared with the Communities you subscribe to. This app will also track information about your device and location in the background. The app uses several methods to minimize battery usage. If you do not want the app to track your location in the background you can disable it in the Settings view.

Background tracking of the apps location is needed to provide alerts and notifications that are dependent on a users location. This can include emergency information that can be relayed to the user even when the app is not running. Without background tracking, this passive location based notification functionality would not work.

Background tracking of the apps location is also needed to provide support for advanced geofencing features such as non-circular and unlimited geofences.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
